「春 その春」
撮影地である道東根室市は、日本で一番桜が遅く開花するところで、３月中旬の雪解けから緩やかに春が過ぎていく、道内でも他では見られない、標高が低く平らかな高層湿原の広がる地域です。一年を通して冷涼で、豊かな自然に恵まれ、多くの野鳥の飛来地としても広く知られています。 根室を撮り歩いていると、人間の小ささを実感するとともに、生命の循環と常に対峙しているような気持ちになります。「春 その春」は、亡くなっていったものへの鎮魂と、育まれる生命の記録とも言えます。
2011年より撮り続けてきました「春 その春」を、この夏、一冊の本にまとめ刊行いたしました。今回はその中から、未発表の作品を中心に展示します。 （門井幸子）
Nemuro City, located in the eastern Hokkaido, is where the cherry blossoms bloom the latest in Japan. Beginning with the thaw in mid-March, Spring passes slowly. It is a region with a low altitude and flat high-rise marshes that cannot be seen anywhere else in Hokkaido. It is cool all year round, blessed with abundant nature, and is widely known as a landing site for many wild birds. As I walk around Nemuro, I realize how small humans are, and I feel like I am constantly confronting the Cycle of Life.
''Nemuro Spring'' can say to be a requiem for what has passed away, and a record of the lives being nurtured.
This summer, I published the photobook "Haru sono Haru " comprised of photographs that I have been creating since 2011 in Nemuro. This exhibition will focus on unpublished works from my new book. (Sachiko Kadoi)
