子供と一緒に外で過ごすことが増えた。
土や草や木に触れ、身体が原初に還るようで心地よかった。

「茂み」 2022年 910×606mm 和紙、岩絵具、水干絵具、色鉛筆
古い旅館や曰くを感じさせる建造物、そこに根を張る植物と人々。
ひっそりと居残る湿潤な昭和風景を、日本画技法で描いてきた椎名 絢。４年ぶりの個展となる。
園児となった愛娘と戸外で過ごす事が増え、草木に触れる時間も増えたという。
作家の好む湿度と土と時間が、茂みに隠れている。

The old ryokan, or Japanese inns, and buildings that stimulates your curiosity, the plants and people that seems to have enrooted tightly there.
Aya Shiina paints to depict the quiet and humid sceneries of the Showa period with Japanese painting techniques. This is her first solo exhibition in four years.
Shiina says that she has spent more time outdoors, and more time touching plants and trees with her beloved daughter being a kindergarten child .
Her favorite humidity, soil and the flow of time are hidden everywhere in the thickets.
